Couleru Meuri. A Nickel Openface Keyless Lever Dual-Time Pocket Watch with Patented Lever Setting System
This lot is offered without reserve. Property of an American Midwestern Gentleman The following lots represent a decade of passionate watch collecting, and a thirst for knowledge and expertise in the field of horology. Even though this Midwestern Gentleman's interest in watches began several decades ago, his pursuit to create a collection of watches with the most unusual escapements, complications, and innovations took the last twelve years to complete. Each watch was chosen to be a part of this fascinating collection because of a special feature, whether it be a minute repeat or a deadbeat seconds complication. The same attention to detail was applied to the wristwatches in this unique collection, which compromise a selection of lots in our afternoon session. Christie's is delighted to present the following collection of fine and rare pocket watches and wristwatches to auction. The collection shows us the innovative way that watchmakers advanced the fields of horology and science, as well as pushed the envelope in terms of design and technical expertise, both centuries ago and in modern creations.
