Shaped circular with shell and scroll border, on four scroll and foliate bracket feet, engraved with geometric circlet of scrolls, straps and panels of diaperwork incorporating floral panels, centred by the recipient's coat of arms above an inscription to The Revd. John William Irvine from his Chelmsford parishioners dated July 1870
