etching with burnished aquatint and drypoint (?), before 1824, on smooth cream wove paper, without watermark, a posthumous trial proof (Harris IIi), in greyish-black ink, before the scratch through the phantom, printed circa 1854-63, before the first edition of 1864, with narrow margins (slightly uneven), some mount staining, pale paper toning and minor staining on the reverse, generally in good condition.

Lot Essay

The present impression is similar that in lot 29, the set printed circa 1854. The paper is perhaps slightly lighter.
