The kabuto (helmet) comprising a five plate Hineno zu-nari hachi (head-shaped-bowl), rounded conical rivets in two rows along the central plate and a single row around the koshi-ita (skirting plate), high frontal plate forming the peaked mabisashi (brim), single-piece tiered gilt hachimanza (decorative surround to the central aperture in the crown), five-tier itazane shikoro (neck guard) of shittsukezane (bands simulating laced scales) with small rounded fukigaeshi (turnbacks), maedate (forecrest) of a hollow square with integral kuwagata (stylized horns), wakidate (side crests) of staghorns, menpo (mask) with gilt-teeth, deeply wrinkled cheeks, detachable nose and bristle moustache of sabiage (lacquer simulating russet iron), yodarekake (bib) four tiers of shittsukezane, the nimai yokohagi do (hinged cuirass) of riveted lateral plates of russet iron with dragons among clouds in gold and silver suritsuke zogan, five-tier shittsukezane sode (shoulder guards), five-splint black-lacquered iron Shino-gote (sleeves), the tekko (hand covers) with matching rounded conical rivets, Iyo haidate (thigh guards), seven-splint Shino suneate (lower leg guards), on matching brocade textile, all shittsukezane with purple sugake odoshi (loose lacing), buff edging and hishinui (cross knots), with its wood box
