A patinated silver model of a parrot on hanging perch
Meiji period (late 19th century), signed Baikai saku (Nakano Baikai)
Naturalistically cast as a parrot and patinated, the body finely incised and the legs finished in gold, the lacquered hanging perch applied with two tassels and elaborate silver fittings; signature on underside
Parrot: 10¼in. (26cm.) high
With original lacquered box titled Jungin tsurikake omu (Pure silver parrot on hanging perch) and signed Nakano Baikai saku on reverse of the lid
