Tivoli: The Temple of The Sybil and The Campagna

The present lot relates to the picture by Richard Wilson of c.1765 in the Kimbell Art Museum, Fort Worth, Texas. There are however variations to the present composition, such as the inclusion of the group in the lower left and the figure disappearing behind the boulder in the foreground, the column of smoke emerging from the low plain as it extends toward Rome, and the vegetation in the foreground.
