Château Montrose 1961
Saint-Estéphe, 2ème cru classé
Scottish-bottled, A. Collie, Aberdeen. Slightly faded labels. Levels: two into neck, three top-shoulder
Tasting note: An archetypal Montrose. Two recent notes the same month. The first, from the château: not as deep as expected; an extraordinary, uplifting, crystallised violets fragrance; surprisingly delicate flavour, delicious. The second: good ripe bouquet; very flavour but with a slightly tart finish. Last tasted Sept 2005. ***** M.B.
