Château d'Yquem 1937
Sauternes, 1er grand cru classé
Original cork. Bin-soiled and damaged label. Level top-shoulder. Dark amber colour
Tasting note: Most recently: a fairly deep warm amber with green rim; very distinctive nose, fragrant, complex, harmonious yet with a refreshing, piquant citrus scent; sweet, very rich, mouthfilling, flavour of ‘calve’s foot jelly’ – a sort of soft gentle caramel, extended flavour, excellent ’37 acidity giving it a dry finish. Superb. Last tasted June 2003 ***** M.B.
