Rectangular, with sliding flat cover, inlaid in mother-of-pearl on one long side with stands of peonies, orchids, bamboo and plum, and on the opposite long side with stands of cherries, chrysanthemums, plantain and bamboo, the short ends inlaid with bamboo and chrysanthemums and the top of the lid inlaid with four auspicious Chinese characters; fitted with metal slide knob
