A gilt bronze figure of Tara
Nepal, 15th/16th century
Seated in lalitasana on a double-lotus base with her right hand in varadamudra and her left in vitarkamudra, adorned with various jewelry and a patterned sash draped over the lap, flanked by lotus blossoms at the shoulders, the face downcast and surmounted by a foliate tiara with the hair in a tall chignon and locks falling down her back, the base sealed and incised with a double-vajra
