India, Himachal Pradesh, circa 12th century
Vishnu standing on a lotus base over a plinth, holding a lotus, mace, chakra and conch in his four hands, dressed in a short dhoti and adorned with various necklaces and garlands, the face with elongated eyes flanked by foliate earrings and surmounted by a cylindrical headdress with flared ties, flanked by attendants holding fly whisks and backed by a throneback with lotiform nimbus
