A SMALL GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF BUDDHA
TANG DYNASTY (AD 618-907)
The figure is shown standing on a stepped base raised on a rectangular, four-legged plinth, holding a globular bowl in the right hand and with the left hand raised to the shoulder. The figure is wearing simple, diaphanous robes, and the head is framed by the open center of the flame-form mandorla which is surmounted by the seated figure of Amitabha Buddha.
