A LARGE BLUE AND WHITE DISH
KANGXI SIX-CHARACTER MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE WITHIN A DOUBLE CIRCLE AND OF THE PERIOD (1662-1722)
The dish has shallow, rounded sides that rise to an everted rim, and is decorated on the interior in intense tones of underglaze blue with a scene of a scholar and two monks standing in a courtyard watching a man holding a spear and a tablet, and on the exterior with islands and rocks.
12 3/8 in. (31.5 cm.) diam.
