A PAIR OF FAMILLE ROSE VASES
REPUBLIC PERIOD, EARLY 20TH CENTURY
Each vase is elegantly potted with a slender oviform body, and is decorated in mirror image with a continuous scene depicting the goddess of longevity, Magu, carrying a flower basket and wearing long flowing robes. She stands beside a spotted deer and a gnarled pine tree amidst rocks and lingzhi. The base has a gilt and iron-red mark, Yanqing lou zhi (made for the building for endearing celebration).
7¼ in. (18.5 cm.) high., box (2)
