A WELL-CARVED PINK TOURMALINE SNUFF BOTTLE
1850-1900
The rounded, spade-shaped bottle is carved in relief on one side with two birds perched in a blossoming prunus tree and on the reverse with a bee hovering above a narcissus plant, all growing from rocks that continue up from the flat, oval base. The translucent stone is of deep pink color.
1 7/8 in. (4.8 cm.) high, jadeite stopper

Acquired in Washington, D.C., in the early 1970s.
