A PALE GREEN JADE BIXIE-FORM WATER POT AND COVER
17TH/18TH CENTURY
The water pot is carved in the form of a bixi, with its head raised and with a tortoise shell on its back. The base is carved with incised swirling waves that rise upwards to the sides of the animal. The small cover is surmounted by a smaller bixi. The softly polished stone is of pale greenish-white color.
