AN UNUSUAL GREYISH-GREEN JADE OVAL WATER VESSEL
LATE MING DYNASTY, 17TH CENTURY
With deep, thick-walled sides, the vessel has a flat base, and is carved in relief with four chilong crawling above a band of rocks and below clouds. The rim has a key-fret band and a large dragon pulling itself up to the rim at one end to form the handle. There are some opaque buff and brown markings in the semi-translucent stone.
