Lot Essay

cf. Y. Brunhammer, André Arbus: Architecte-Décorateur des Années 40, Paris, 1996, p. 341 for an example of the full sculptural realization in 1959 and p. 379 for a period photograph of the full sculptural realization in situ in the Salon at Saint-Nom-La-Bretètche in 1964. The caption also mentions that a reduced version (likely the present version) was realized in 1959.
