The famous Persian epic of Firdawsi, Persian manuscript on paper, 165ff. plus eight fly-leaves, each folio with 15ll. of black nasta'liq script arranged in two columns with black double intercolumnar divisions, text within black and brown frame, with marginal notes, catchwords, profusely illustrated, incomplete at beginning and end, paper without apparent watermark, in late 19th century figural Kashmiri papier-mache binding, the doublures painted blue
