AN ARCHAISTIC BRONZE TRIPOD VESSEL, JUE
DATED CHENGHUA BINGWU YEAR, CORRESPONDING TO 1486 AND OF THE PERIOD
The vessel is cast in archaistic form, supported on three slightly splayed legs. The mid-section is decorated with a wide band of geometric designs. The underneath of the spout is carved with a panel enclosing the cyclical date and a long inscription.
7 ¼ in. (18.4 cm.) diam.
