A BLUE AND WHITE CYLINDRICAL BRUSH POT
TRANSITIONAL PERIOD, CIRCA 1630-1650
The slender cylindrical brush pot is painted on the exterior with the Daoist immortal Zhongkui, with his right hand holding his sword. A demon is depicted kneeling before him, beside rocks and a willow tree. The scene is set between two delicately incised foliate bands encircling the mouth and the foot.
