3 parts in 1 volume, 8º (208 x 145mm). Without half-titles and final blank, probably as issued. (Occasional light spotting, a few leaves with light soiling.) Contemporary cloth, the sides with a blindstamped border, the spine and upper side lettered in gilt (hinges split, extremities rubbed). Provenance: Sergei Dmitrievich Sheremetev (1844-1918; bookplate) -- Aleksei Aleksandrovich Ivanov (1860-1921, Dostoevsky's nephew; 'A.I.' cipher at spine foot; acquired from his estate by the consignor).
FIRST EDITION, in contemporary cloth and with interesting provenance: Count Sheremetev, statesman and historian, built a rich library comprising more than 10,000 volumes; Aleksei Ivanov was Dostoevsky's nephew. Kilgour 283.
