A BROWN-GROUND COURT ROBE FOR AN IMPERIAL DUKE, JIFU
LATE 19TH CENTURY
It is worked with nine gilt five-clawed dragons chasing flaming pearls amidst clouds, fire scrolls, bats and auspicious emblems in coloured silks all above cresting waves and lishui stripes.
Provenance
Acquired in the 1920s by the mother of the present owner.
