[8], 263, [5] pp. (Title supplied in facsimile from the first edition, browned, some staining, several upper margins repaired with loss of a few letters in quire Bb, very occasional small marginal wormtrack, a few old scribbles.) Old vellum relaid on thin pasteboard, retaining most of original pastedowns with contemporary annotations.
WITH THE FIFTH PART DEVOTED TO PASTRY. First published in 1596 and reprinted throughout the 17th century, Wecker’s was the first cookbook published by a woman in the German language. The collation of this copy agrees with the 1607 edition, known in only two other copies, at Regensburg (incomplete) and the Bavarian State Library.
