Rectangular, the cover repoussé with a realistic scene depicting a woman and two peasants in a rural landscape, with a wood well to the right, within gilt and enamel borders, the gilt reverse enamelled with polychrome stylised foliage and strapwork, gilt interior, marked inside cover and back, in the original fitted leather silk and velvet-lined box stamped in Russian ‘[From] the shop / [of] manufacturer/ Ovchinnikov’
