AN EASTERN MEDITERRANEAN CORE-FORMED GLASS AMPHORISKOS
CIRCA LATE 6TH-5TH CENTURY B.C.
Dark green in color, the ovoid body with rounded shoulders, a cylindrical neck and inward-sloping rim, opaque yellow and turquoise threads wound spirally around the body, marvered and tooled into a zigzag pattern in the middle of the body, with yellow bands below, yellow and turquoise on the rim, twin dark green vertical handles and a pad base, a red inclusion below each handle and descending vertically into the zigzag, some red also low on the body
