A South Italian gnathia ware miniature kylix
with upturned twin handles (one damaged) and small ridged foot, the black glazed body decorated with bands of tongues, ovolo and double vine tendrils, the reverse with three vertical tendrils interspersed with dotted rosette -- 5 1/8in. (13cm.) across handles; a larger kylix, similar, the interior with encircling band of laurel and vine, repaired -- 10in. (25.4cm.) across; another, black glazed -- 6 3/8in. (16.1cm.) across; two black glazed single handled bowls -- 7¾in. (19.7cm.) across max.; and a miniature black glazed juglet -- 2¾in. (7cm.) high, all with repairs, 4th Century B.C. (6)
