Lot Essay

Compare this vase to a smiliar pair which also have Qianlong marks, illustrated in Elegance and Radiance: Grandeur in Qing Glass, The Andrew K.F. Lee Collection, Hong Kong, 2000, pp. 296, no. 111. The style of carving of the ruby-red overlay to the snowflake ground is very similar.
