A LARGE GILT-METAL CLOISONNE ENAMEL FACETTED VASE AND COVER
QING DYNASTY, LATE 18TH/19TH CENTURY
The broad sides are finely decorated on the main sides with herbaceous tree peony and the narrow sides with chrysanthemums. Below further flowers on the sloping shoulders, the facetted corners decorated with blue angular scroll overlaid with gilt-metal mounts cast as cord-tied bi stretched between the beaks of bird heads with bird-form wings applied to the shoulder corners and the tops of the heads of the crouching monster supports. The canted facets of the cover are similarly decorated below a lingzhi fungus finial.
