A Qajar lacquer snuffbox
and hinged cover in the form of a shoe, painted and gilt to the sides and base with cartouches of hunters on horseback bearing swords and guns, chasing lions, deer, rabbits and wild boar, flanking a portrait oval on a ground of flowerheads to the toe, the heel decorated with a rising sun, zodiac roundels, fish and angels in flight, the lid with lions before further rising suns flanking a seated figure holding Shah's Crown on a bed of roses, all on a black ground -- 3¼in. (8.3cm) long, (some gilt rubbing and chips).
