Jarno Trulli is a Formula One driver, starting his F1 racing career in 1996. The partnership between Trulli and Audemars Piguet began in 2008. At the time, Trulli drove on the Toyota team. In 2010, Trulli joined Lotus Racing, and left the team in 2012. During his Formula One career, Jarno Trulli qualified 256 GP, placing him 3rd on the all time list, behind Rubens Barrichello and Michael Schumacher

The "Royal Oak Offshore Jarno Trulli" chronograph wristwatch was produced in forged carbon, a material that Audemars Piguet was first to use. It also features a cermet bezel, which is a composite material made of ceramic and metal. Cermet was created to have the properties of both ceramic (resistance to hardness) and metal (the ability to be formed). Cermet is usually less than 20 metal by volume, and has various applications, including transportation, for friction material for brakes and clutches.
