ACCADEMIA DETTA DELLA PACE. Raccolta di X. proggetti architettonici inventati e disegnati da alcuni membri della Accademia Detta Della Pace contenuti in XXX. Rami. Rome: Lorenzo Lazzari, ca 1797.
Oblong 2o (286 x 429 mm). Engraved title, 30 aquatint plates. (Some spotting or staining.) Modern leather-backed boards. Provenance: acquired from Marlborough Rare Books, 1986.
Later issue with 30 plates; the first edition of 1792 had 27 plates (see Berlin Kat. 2645). "This volume of c1797 was the production of a group of young architects. The volume of c1797 contained in its fullest form 30 aquatint plates, arranged in ten groups of three plates each; the last group, by an otherwise unknown architect Leopoldo Buzi, may however have been an afterthought, for although the British Library copy has all 30 plates, the Berlin copy (Berlin [Kat.] 2645) had only 27 plates and a title leaf apparently referring to nine projects only. ...Both the edition of c1797 and the reissue are of very considerable rarity, and NUC records no copy of either" (Hugh Pagan, Cat. No. 1, Sept. 1987).
