A PAIR OF WILLIAM AND MARY WALNUT HIGH-BACK CANED CHAIRS
LATE 17TH CENTURY
Each with elaborately-carved pierced cresting depicting a central crowned female bust flanked by buxom mermaids, above a caned panel between pierced foliate uprights and flanked by outer foliate-carved columns, with conforming front stretcher and mermaid front legs and with flattened scroll-carved cross-stretcher
