Of baluster outline with loop finial to the handles, each bearing the remains of painted later painted coat-of-arms for William Lygon, the Earls Beauchamp

Lot Essay

The arms are those of Lygon, as borne by the Earls Beauchamp with a mullet for difference denoting a third son, probably for the Hon. Henry Beauchamp (1794-1863), later 4th Earl Beauchamp who succeeded his brother in 1853. He was a general in the army and married Lady Susan Caroline Eliot (d. 1835), daughter of the 2nd Earl of St. Germans in 1824.
