A 25-BORE MILITARY WHEEL-LOCK HOLSTER PISTOL
DUTCH OR NORTH GERMAN, MID-17th CENTURY
With tapering barrel, plain flat bevelled lock with manual pan-cover, fruitwood full-stock with iron mounts (some later), and iron-tipped ramrod; together with AN IRON-MOUNTED COW-HORN POWDER-FLASK INCORPORATING A WHEEL-LOCK KEY, almost certainly Dutch or North German, 17th century, of flattened green-stained horn with carved neck
The pistol 23 5/8 in. (60cm.) overall, the flask 7 1/2 in. (19cm.) long
The left side of the barrel with a rubbed maker's mark at the breech
