FOUR LARGE POLYCHROME WOODEN PANELS
KASHMIR, INDIA, 19TH CENTURY
Each of rectangular form with geometric polychrome painted decoration arranged in a dense lattice; the first around a six-pointed star encompassing a rosette; the second around a radiating eight-pointed star, the field of floral medallions, the four corners with inward facing palmettes; the third with a quincux arrangement of cusped medallions with floral quatrefoils; the last with avian and floral motifs within eight polychrome eight-pointed stars interspersed with red and green coloured elongated hexagons arranged in cross-like pattern
