With blued two-stage flared barrel with octagonal breech-section, bright lock with safety-catch, pierced wheel-retaining bracket, and fully functional mechanism, solid 18 ct gold stock with finely matt panels within polished borders, blued trigger-guard and belt-hook, and bright ramrod, in a lined close-fitted leather jewellers case

Lot Essay

By repute it took renowned British miniaturist Dr. Cooper several years to create this exquisite masterpiece. Samuel Weill, a noted collector and authority on miniature firearms, stated his opinion in Guns of the World that he "...considers this to be the most meticulously made piece in his entire collection."
