A 17th century Limoges enamel plaque
the spandrels with polychrome flowers, the centre en grisaille and gilt heightened with the Christ Child and St. Joseph, bearing the legend S. IOSEPH, signed with initials IL (J. Laudin), the reverse inscribed Laudin Emaillieur à Limoges .I.L, probably Jacques Laudin, 1627-1695 -- 5in.x 4in. (12.5x10cm), in an ebonised frame.
