AN UNUSUAL QINGBAI CARVED BOWL
SOUTHERN SONG DYNASTY (1127-1279)
The bowl has deep, rounded sides carved on the exterior with an unusual pattern of overlapping chrysanthemum petals and is covered allover with a delicate pale greenish-blue glaze which pools to a darker tone around the deeper carved areas and also covers the foot. The mouth rim is covered with a metal mount.
