AN UNUSUAL GREEN, MAUVE, YELLOW AND BLACK-GLAZED 'SANDUO' DISH
KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722)
The interior is decorated with three fruiting branches, including pomegranate, and possibly orange, while branches of peach and finger citron are on the exterior. An apocryphal Xuande mark is on the base. Together with a small green and yellow-glazed 'dragon' dish, late Ming-early Qing dynasty, 17th century, the exterior is incised with dragons racing amidst clouds on an egg yolk-yellow ground that also covers the interior. A ya character ('elegance') is in underglaze blue in a double circle on the base.
6 3/8 and 5 3/8 in. (16.2 and 13.7 cm.) diam.
