A SMALL BRONZE CENSER AND COVER
18TH CENTURY
The sides of the deep body are finely cast with upright petals, one with an apocryphal Xuande mark, encircled by a 'cord' band interrupted by a pair of phoenix-head handles, and the mouth and foot rims are beaded. The cover is cast in openwork with two dragons striding between the clouds that form the rim, and the cylindrical finial is pierced on top as if it were a lotus pod.
