A PAIR OF YELLOW-GROUND PAINTED ENAMEL GU-FORM BEAKER VASES
18TH CENTURY
Each vase is finely painted on the tall, bell-shaped foot and the flaring trumpet mouth with dense, leafy tendrils bearing stylized flowers, divided on the bulbous central section by symmetrically arranged floral scrolls enclosing bats in flight and shou-character roundels, all reserved on a soft yellow ground. The interior is enameled in a pale turquoise.
