19TH CENTURY
The compressed globular body is raised on three animal-mask and paw supports and is carved in low relief on two sides with taotie mask bands separated by the upswept handles. The domed cover is decorated with a band of dragons confronted on a leiwen ground below an openwork, shou-character medallion finial.
5½ in. (14 cm.) wide across handles
