A SMALL WHITE AND RUSSET JADE CARVING OF A RECUMBENT HORSE
17TH-18TH CENTURY
The horse is well carved with the head lowered on the extended forelegs, the hind legs tucked under the body, and the tail flicked onto the left rear haunch. The mane and tail have finely detailed hair markings. The horse rests on top of a rocky base carved with small blades of grass. The stone is of soft white tone with russet markings and has a satiny polish.
