SIGNED 'ALI ASGHAR ISFAHANI, QAJAR IRAN, LATE 18TH/EARLY 19TH CENTURY
With a curved single-edged watered-steel blade tapering to a fine point, the forte of one side of the blade with elegant gold-inlaid nasta'liq with maker's name, an invocation to Shah 'Abbas, and a contemporaneous dedication inscription to Fath 'Ali Shah set in elegant foliate cusped cartouches, the steel quillons with engraved floral sprays, the later grips of horn with steel spine, pommel with steel casing
