The scrollwork frame supporting a bottle shaped case, the front with flowers and exotic birds around the dial, the reverse with birds and bamboo, with stylised monogram 'HMP', bove a lion-mask panel, on elephant head feet, the movemevet stamped 'JAPY FRERES

This design for this pendule japonisante is credited to Edouard Lièvre. The model is also recorded by L'Escalier de Cristal, see a clock related to a pair of pendant candelabra signed by L'Escalier de Cristal in Connaissance des Arts, pp. 28 & 34.
