Ovoid, part-fluted, with bead borders, waisted cover with ball finial, wood handle, interior fitted with cylindrical heating tube cover engraved with crest, front engraved with coat of arms for Prince George, Duke of Cornwall (1762-1830)

Lot Essay

Prince George, eldest son of George III was created Prince of Wales a few days after his birth and as such became ipso facto a Knight of the Garter. In 1811 he became Prince Regent and in 1820 ascended the throne as George IV.
