4° (221 x 151mm.). 30 double-page engraved celestial charts. (Text leaves and title lightly spotted.) Contemporary mottled calf, flat spine gilt (extremities lightly rubbed). Provenance: Biblioteque d’Hauteville (bookplate).

The first edition of Flamsteed's celestial atlas to be published in France. It was edited by Le Monnier, containing observations by Pasumot and the addition of the southern planisphere by La Caille. When first published, the atlas represented a new era in celestial cartography, recording the stars Flamsteed observed using equatorial and ecliptic coordinates. Brunet II, 1280; Lalande 553.
