Venice: Leonardo Pittoni, 1686. 8° (150 x 100mm). Engraved folding map of Greece and 10 folding views on 11 sheets, wood-engraved initials, head- and tailpieces. (Lacking E8, but with the blank F8, short tears and light staining to folding map without loss, small marginal tear to A8, occasional faint staining.) Late 19th-/early 20th-century decorative stiff wrappers (lightly rubbed with a few minor nicks).

EXTREMELY RARE WORK RELATING TO THE VENETIAN EMPIRE IN GREECE, with an account of the latest military and naval victories by the Venetian Republic. Although the title-page calls for 12 plates, the number of plates tallies with the list given at the end of the text. NO COPY CAN BE TRACED AS SELLING AT AUCTION (ABPC/AE-online); Worldcat only gives a single location of Harvard, while SBN reports only 5 copies in Italian institutions.
