A PAIR OF GEORGE II SCOTTISH SILVER TWO-LIGHT CANDELABRA
MARK OF WILLIAM DEMPSTER, EDINBURGH, THE CANDLESTICKS 1759, THE BRANCHES 1747
Each on a shaped square base, the corners cast and chased with masks and vacant cartouches, the faceted baluster stem with conforming decoration, spool-shaped socket and detachable female herm and foliate scroll branches, with flame finial and terminating in shaped circular wax pans and spool-shaped nozzle, engraved on base with a crest, marked under base and under wax pans, also with assay master's mark of Hugh Gordon
